We currently have an opening for HARBORMASTER POSITION AND MARINE SERVICE TECHNICIAN  POSITION

HARBORMASTER POSITION
Washburn Marina is looking to for a full-time, year round Harbormaster. Washburn Marina is located in northern WI on Lake Superior, a desirable location to live and relocate to. Our facility has a retail ship store as well as a service facility and indoor heated storage that are the largest in the area, providing the ability to offer outstanding service and high quality projects and output.  The Harbormaster oversees and implements the maintenance of the marina facility as well as attending to the ship store, service the fuel dock customers and other tasks around the marina.  Our motto is “Working to keep the FUN in boating for our customers”, we like to keep the fun in our workplace too.
Responsibilities-
Professional customer service with professional results is our primary goal. To provide this level of service, the Store Clerk must be able to:
  • Serve customers in a marine environment
  • Monitor marina and facility condition and repair needs
  • Identify and implement necessary repairs to facility as necessary or contact proper professionals
  • Operate a computer at an adequate level to track repairs/service records, run computerized register and email
  • Oversee customer service items including sales, tracking dockage, subcontractor relations
  • Service customers and maintain records for fuel dock operations
  • Provide high-end customer service, focusing on professional output and presentation
Qualifications-
  • Ability to work in a marina environment
  • Effective written and verbal skills
  • Effective people and interpersonal skills
  • Adequate computer skills, email, internet searching, data entry/retrieval
  • Effective planning/organizational skills
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • Able to work in team environment
Salary based $17/hr plus incentive, health insurance, retirement and paid time off
Training and professional education opportunities are available to increase the professional offerings to the Washburn Marina and surrounding area customers.

​MARINE SERVICE TECHNICIAN
​Washburn Marina is looking to add a Full Time Marine Service Technician. We are located in northern WI on Lake Superior, a desirable location to live and relocate to. Our service facility and indoor heated storage are the largest in the area, providing the ability to offer outstanding service and high-quality projects and output.  Service techs works on power boats and sailboats of all sizes, ranging from 20’ to over 80’. We provide engine mechanical service on inboard, I/O and outboards, fiberglass/gelcoat and painting services, electrical systems and electronics, as well as general boat systems. Ongoing training and education is provided. Our motto is “Working to keep the FUN in boating for our customers”, we like to keep the fun in our workplace too.
Responsibilities-
Professional customer service with professional results is our primary goal. To provide this level of service, technicians must be able to:
  • Diagnose vessel issues and problem solve
  • Repair vessel in a safe and efficient manner
  • Communicate with marina staff regarding parts needs and job progress
  • Accurately estimate labor time
  • Professionally and effectively use time
  • Have the ability to work in a variety of work conditions – weather, space, and physical demands
  • Work on multiple work orders, change from job to job as timing and parts availability arise
  • Provide high-end customer service, focusing on professional output and presentation
Qualifications-
  • Marine experience on boats
  • Mechanical background and aptitude
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Own basic tool set up
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • Able to work in team environment
Salary based on experience, plus health insurance, retirement match, paid time off and annual profit sharing.
